Whether it’s your first time buying a home or your tenth, it’s still a big deal and I’d love to help.

Step-by-Step Buying Guide

  • Find an Agent

Let’s be honest, the first step was probably getting all dreamy eyed looking at cute new houses that hit the market, but when you want to start talking about your goals and timeline and to learn how to make that dream house yours, let’s talk. I’d love to help.

  • Get Pre-Approved

Unless you’re buying with all cash, you’ll want to meet with a lender to get a clear picture of your buying power. You may be ready to buy now, or you may have some steps to take first. I’m happy to connect you with a trusted lender that can help get you pre-approved.

  • Look at Houses!

Let’s do this! Remember all those cute houses you were staring at? Now we get to go walk around them. I have an obsession for scrolling for houses too, so I’ll send you some that I think would be a good match too, but only you can decide which is home.

  • Write Your Offer

Once you narrow it down to the one, let’s make it happen. We’ll talk offer strategies based on the house, the market and the competition as well as additional terms that will help your offer stand out. Then I’ll fight like heck to get your offer accepted.

  • Inspections

Offer accepted! Now we get to see past the glitz and glam and get a better view of the current state of the house. I’ll help you schedule inspections and negotiate repairs, credits or price reductions based on the findings of the professional inspectors.

  • Appraisal

If you’re financing your home your lender will likely require a physical inspection and assessment of value by a licensed appraiser who also may require sellers to address potential health and safety issues such as installing smoke and CO2 detectors.

  • Signing

Start doing those hand stretches. Once repairs have been negotiated, the appraisal has been completed and your lender has issued final approval, it’s signing time! You’ll meet with your escrow officer (the neutral third party) to sign allllll the papers.

  • Recording

While signing is a symbolic step, it doesn’t actually mean you own the house yet. The sellers will sign separately and once everyone has signed and your lender funds the loan, escrow will record the deed with the county and you’re officially a homeowner!

  • Key Day

You did it! I’ll snag your keys and we’ll find a time to meet at your new home to celebrate and snap that first photo. I’ll miss seeing you on the regular, but I’m not going anywhere. Please reach out if you have any questions or need any vendor (or taco) recs. I got you.
